Hardware Profile
Overview
The Arc B580 is Intel's mainstream Battlemage desktop GPU and the most prominent card in the Arc B-series at launch in late 2024. It succeeds the Alchemist A-series and represents a substantial architectural improvement, with Intel delivering considerably better raster performance and a far more polished driver experience than the first-generation Arc cards offered.
The B580 stands out with 12GB of GDDR6 memory at a $249 price point β more VRAM than most competitors in its tier β and operates at a 190W TDP. Battlemage introduces improved hardware ray tracing, XeSS 2 with enhanced image quality and DP4a compatibility for broader hardware support, and full AV1 hardware encode and decode. At launch, the B580 was widely recognized as one of the strongest value options in the mainstream segment due to its VRAM advantage and competitive raster performance.
The Arc B580 is designed for 1080p and 1440p gaming, with 12GB of VRAM providing meaningful headroom for future titles and memory-intensive use cases. It appeals to buyers who want maximum VRAM at a given price and are comfortable with Intel's GPU ecosystem. The improved Battlemage driver foundation makes it a considerably safer choice than the earlier A-series was at its respective launches.
