Overview
The Radeon RX 6700 XT is AMD's upper mid-range entry in the RDNA 2 generation, sitting above the RX 6700 and targeting competitive 1440p gaming. Launched in early 2021, it marked AMD's push to bring the RDNA 2 architecture — and its generational efficiency gains — to a broader audience.
It carries 12GB of GDDR6 memory paired with AMD's Infinity Cache, a large on-die cache that compensates for the 192-bit memory bus and boosts effective bandwidth. Like all RDNA 2 cards, it includes hardware-accelerated ray tracing and supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) for upscaled image quality and higher frame rates.
The RX 6700 XT is well suited to 1440p gaming at high settings and handles most titles at that resolution without compromise. It appeals to buyers who want a capable mid-to-high-end GPU with ample VRAM for textures and asset streaming at a price below the flagship tier.
