Overview
The Radeon RX 7600 XT is an updated version of the RX 7600, released in early 2025 with a significantly expanded memory configuration. It occupies the same entry-to-mid-range position within the RDNA 3 lineup but addresses the memory limitation that drew criticism toward the base model.
The defining upgrade over the RX 7600 is its 16GB of GDDR6 memory, doubling the base model's 8GB on the same 128-bit bus. It retains the improved hardware ray tracing of RDNA 3, AV1 hardware encoding, and FSR 3 with Fluid Motion Frames. The higher VRAM capacity makes it more resilient in texture-heavy workloads and future titles that push past 8GB allocations.
The RX 7600 XT is suited to 1080p gaming with demanding texture settings and extends comfortably to 1440p. It appeals to buyers who want current-generation features and ample VRAM headroom at an accessible price point, particularly those who found the base RX 7600 too constrained for their workload.
