Overview
The Radeon RX 6900 XT is AMD's flagship RDNA 2 graphics card, launched in December 2020 as the successor to the Radeon VII and the company's answer to NVIDIA's RTX 3090. It uses the full Navi 21 die, making it the highest-specification RDNA 2 GPU available at launch.
It carries 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus backed by 128MB of Infinity Cache, delivering the same memory configuration as the RX 6800 XT but with more compute units enabled. Hardware ray tracing is included, along with AMD Smart Access Memory (SAM) support for compatible AMD processor and motherboard combinations. FSR upscaling is available across supported titles.
The RX 6900 XT targets 4K gaming with ray tracing and high-refresh 1440p at the highest settings. It is aimed at enthusiasts who want AMD's top-tier single-GPU performance and are willing to pay a premium for the flagship designation, particularly those already invested in an AMD platform.
