Overview
The Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB is AMD's entry into the mainstream RDNA 4 lineup, positioned as an accessible option within the RX 9000 series. It is worth noting that the 8GB variant occupies a lower price tier than the 16GB version of the same GPU, making them distinct market propositions despite sharing the same architecture and base chip.
Built on RDNA 4, the RX 9060 XT features second-generation hardware ray tracing with roughly double the throughput of RDNA 3, along with FSR 4 — AMD's machine-learning-based upscaling comparable to DLSS in approach. AV1 hardware encoding and decoding are also included, benefiting streamers and content creators. The card carries 8GB of GDDR6 memory at a TDP of approximately 150W.
The RX 9060 XT 8GB is aimed at 1080p and entry-level 1440p gaming at its $299 price point. Buyers willing to accept 8GB of VRAM in exchange for a lower cost will find solid RDNA 4 raster and ray-tracing performance for the price, though those intending to play at higher settings or resolutions may want to consider the 16GB variant.
