Overview
The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is NVIDIA's near-flagship Ampere card, released in June 2021 to bridge the gap between the RTX 3080 and the RTX 3090. It was positioned as a high-end gaming option that approaches RTX 3090 performance at a lower price point.
The RTX 3080 Ti features 12GB of GDDR6X memory — an upgrade over the base RTX 3080's 10GB — providing greater headroom for high-resolution textures and compute tasks. It shares the Ampere architecture's 2nd-generation RT cores, 3rd-generation Tensor cores, and DLSS 2 support, with a TDP of approximately 350W.
The RTX 3080 Ti is built for high-refresh 4K gaming with ray tracing enabled, and the extra VRAM compared to the RTX 3080 gives it an advantage in the most memory-demanding scenarios. It suits enthusiasts who want the best gaming performance the Ampere generation offers without paying the RTX 3090's significant price premium.
