Overview
The Radeon RX 7900 XTX is AMD's flagship RDNA 3 graphics card, launched in December 2022 as the successor to the RX 6900 XT and AMD's answer to NVIDIA's RTX 4080. It uses the full Navi 31 chiplet die with all compute units enabled, representing AMD's highest single-GPU performance in the RDNA 3 generation.
It is equipped with 24GB of GDDR6 memory on a 384-bit bus β not HBM, but a wide GDDR6 interface that provides substantial bandwidth. The 24GB capacity is the largest among RDNA 3 consumer cards and rivals professional GPU allocations. RDNA 3's improved hardware ray tracing, AV1 hardware encoding, and FSR 3 with Fluid Motion Frames are fully supported.
The RX 7900 XTX is designed for 4K gaming at high-to-maximum settings and professional creative workloads that demand large frame buffers. It suits enthusiasts and creators who want AMD's top-tier consumer GPU performance and can leverage the 24GB VRAM for tasks like high-resolution rendering, video editing, or running large local AI models alongside gaming.
