Overview

The Radeon RX 6600 is AMD's mainstream RDNA 2 graphics card, launched in October 2021 at $329. It is positioned below the RX 6600 XT in the RX 6000 lineup and targets 1080p gaming as its primary use case. The card is built on the Navi 23 GPU and represents a significant step up from the entry-level RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT, featuring a much wider 128-bit memory bus.

The RX 6600 comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, doubling the capacity of the entry-level RDNA 2 cards and pairing it with a 128-bit bus for substantially improved bandwidth. RDNA 2 brings hardware ray tracing support and AMD Infinity Cache β€” the RX 6600 carries 32MB of Infinity Cache, which helps offset the narrower bus relative to higher-end RDNA 2 cards. FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR 1.0) is supported in software across all RDNA generations. The card's TDP of approximately 132W is modest for its performance tier, and it draws power through a single 8-pin connector.

The RX 6600 is well-suited to 1080p gaming at high to ultra settings across a wide range of current titles, delivering smooth performance in the resolution it was designed for. It is a practical choice for buyers building or upgrading a 1080p gaming PC on a mid-range budget, particularly those who prioritize efficiency and 8GB VRAM without spending up for the XT variant.
