Overview

The GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER is NVIDIA's mid-cycle refresh of the RTX 2070, released in July 2019. It retained the same $499 MSRP as the original RTX 2070 while delivering meaningfully improved performance — effectively displacing the RTX 2070 in the lineup and offering better value at the same price point.

Like the standard RTX 2070, it uses the Turing architecture with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, 1st-generation RT cores, and Tensor cores. The SUPER variant features a higher CUDA core count and increased memory bandwidth compared to the base RTX 2070, bringing it closer to RTX 2080 territory. It supports hardware ray tracing and DLSS 1, though DLSS at this generation was still in its early stages.

The RTX 2070 SUPER is well suited to 1440p gaming at high refresh rates and competitive at 4K in titles with moderate demands. It appeals to buyers seeking stronger performance per dollar than the original RTX 2070 offered, particularly those who prioritize high-resolution gaming over raw efficiency.
